*筆者: 偶爾 TED 會出現在新聞中,但往往又有些摸不著頭緒,TED並非人名,而是由「技術(technology)」、「娛樂(entertainment)」、「設計(design)」三個字首所組成。而其中 TED Talks (TED演講) 的主題不拘限於技術、娛樂與設計,更擴及科學、教育、發展、文化、商業、藝術、環保等話題。

Marriott Hotels has announced a partnership with TED, the non-profit devoted to ideas worth spreading. This relationship brings creatively curated TED Talks, blogs and original quotes to hotel guests worldwide. Travelers staying at Marriott Hotels will now have access to thought-provoking and inspirational content to help jump-start their own original, inventive thinking. The content is expertly curated by TED, according to selected themes that are topical and relevant to guests, including curiosity, innovation, travel and entrepreneurship. The themes change every quarter.
萬豪酒店集團宣佈成為TED的合作夥伴,而TED是致力將思想廣為流傳的非營利組織。這項合作關係為全球酒店客人帶來創意策劃的TED演講、部落格(博客)及原汁原味的經典語句。住在萬豪酒店的旅人如今將有機會獲致想法的激發與啟發性的內容,並立即推動自己原創構想。演講的內容會依據精選的主題(對酒店客人是相關且有話題性的)由TED做專業策劃,主題大致包括奇聞軼事、創新、旅遊及公司企業。演講主題每季更換一次。

In addition, through this partnership, Marriott Hotels will also host a series of five global TED Talks Fellows salons in Seattle, London, Dubai, Bangkok and Santiago throughout this year and into 2017. Themes and speakers for the salons will coincide with the content themes during that period. By featuring some of the remarkable TED Fellows as a source of motivation, Marriott Hotel guests will have the opportunity to engage with TED’s trailblazers in an intimate conversation setting, addressing innovative and thought-provoking discussion topics to each region.
除此之外,藉由這項合作,自今年(2016年)一直延續到2017年,萬豪酒店集團位於西雅圖、倫敦、杜拜(迪拜)、曼谷及聖地牙哥的據點將陸續成為全球五場TED演講的夥伴會談之主辦地點。這五場夥伴會談的主題與主講人將與當季的主題內容一致。以優異的TED夥伴成員為與會的動力來源和特色,萬豪酒店的客人將有機會與 TED的思想先驅者們近距離對話,和聆聽針對個別區域的創新與思想激發之主題討論。

Content that is offered in the form of blogs, curated TED Talks and inspirational quotes through guest room entertainment and when logging into Wi-Fi will be made available by this fall. Original videos created by TED for Marriott Hotels guests will also be released on the Marriott Hotels social media channels. Additionally, Marriott Hotels event experts will feature one-of-a-kind “Inspirational menu” of TED assets that can be utilized for corporate groups for on-property meetings.
由TED演講會策劃的相關內容在今年秋季之前將可以看得到,除了以部落格(博客)的型式呈現外,在登入酒店的無線上網服務後,也能夠在客房娛樂系統中看到TED演講中啟發性的語錄。而TED為萬豪酒店客人所做的第一手影片也將在萬豪酒店集團的社群媒體頻道中播出。除此之外,萬豪酒店的會議活動專業人員將會以TED的智慧資產製作出獨一無二的「啟發式選單」並以此為特色加以運用在企業團體在館內所舉行的會議當中。
